Sunday December 7th in 1941, Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Empire of Japan. This caused the end of hundreds of lives, and scarred the United States forever. Arizona, the ship held several soldiers and was completely destroyed. An 184 foot memorial now stands to commemorate the loss of many American soldiers. It has three separate chambers, including an entry room, an assembly room, and a central area for ceremonies and general observation. There is also a shrine room where the names of those who lost their lives are engraved on a marble slab.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower aided in the victory of allies in Europe during WWI, and approved the creation of the Pearl Harbor Memorial. This memorial draws many to the beautiful state of Hawaii. Not only are the beaches and weather exquisite, but there are hundreds of historical learning tours that many participate in during their stay.
